Living in Sheepshead Bay

Named after the small body of water it sits just north of, Sheepshead Bay began as a fishing community. These traditional roots have flourished into tasty seafood joints with pleasant views of the water. Far from Brooklyn’s commercial center, Sheepshead Bay does have multiple subway stops to provide easy city access for its commuters, but the wonder of Brighton Beach and Coney Island is even nearer — as are Russian cafes that pay homage to the many Eastern Europeans who dwell here.
